Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov warned residents on Telegram at approximately 3:23 a.m. that the city was under a combined attack involving ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs, known as KABs.
“Kharkiv is under a combined strike of ballistic missiles and KABs – be careful!” he wrote.
Shortly afterward, Terekhov confirmed that one of the Russian strikes had hit a medical facility in the Nemyshlianskyi district.
Initial reports indicated four people had been injured, but the casualty count subsequently rose to 25, according to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration chief Oleh Syniehubov.
In an update on Telegram, Syniehubov said the Russian strike hit a passage connecting two hospital buildings, damaging one of the medical departments.
The blast also shattered windows in four apartment buildings and damaged 10 passenger vehicles.
Emergency services were deployed to the scene, with rescue workers and medical personnel responding to the injured and helping relocate patients.

Attack follows Zelensky’s warning of new massive Russian strikes
The bombardment came hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukrainian intelligence had detected preparations for another massive Russian attack, primarily targeting the country’s energy and logistics infrastructure.
In his evening address on Nov. 2, Zelensky said Moscow could attempt to exploit international attention on Tuesday’s US midterm elections.
“We have intel that Russia is preparing a new massive attack on our country – primarily targeting energy and logistics,” he said.
The president also warned that Russia was counting on Ukraine’s difficulties obtaining Patriot air defense interceptors as it continued its campaign of missile and drone strikes.
Kharkiv, located close to the Russian border, has been repeatedly targeted by Russian aerial bombs, missiles and attack drones throughout the full-scale invasion.
The latest strike follows a particularly deadly day for Ukrainian civilians. On Monday, Russian aircraft bombed a school distributing humanitarian aid in Komyshuvakha, Zaporizhzhia region, killing at least 26 people.
As Kyiv Post previously reported, Russian forces launched additional bombs at a shelter where civilians had sought refuge following the initial strike.
Kyiv Post is Ukraine’s first and oldest English news organization, reporting since 1995. Its international reach – 90% of readers are outside of Ukraine – make it truly Ukraine’s global voice.
