African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says the party will take action against its elected representatives who fail to meet their commitments to communities.

Ramaphosa visited the Premier Soccer League (PSL) offices in Parktown, Johannesburg, where he met with Chairperson Irvin Khoza to encourage South Africans, including soccer fans, to vote in the Local Government Elections (LGE).

Ramaphosa says the party has introduced local manifestos and monitoring teams to ensure its elected representatives deliver on their promises.

He says the ANC remains committed to fulfilling its manifesto commitments.

“As the ANC, we are saying we want our candidates to commit themselves to working for the people. And those who don’t, we will take steps to even remove them.”
