The Apataim Cassava Factory Project in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency has been commissioned, marking a step towards expanding local cassava processing, creating jobs and improving incomes for farmers and processors.

The commissioning ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with the Member of Parliament for the area, Kofi Arko Nokoe, and the Municipal Chief Executive for Nzema East, Herbert Kuah Dickson, participating in the event.

Mr Nokoe expressed gratitude to the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Climate Adaptive Living Facility for sponsoring and supporting the project, which is expected to strengthen the local agricultural value chain.

He said the factory would provide an opportunity to add value to cassava produced in the area, reduce post-harvest losses and create employment opportunities, while improving the livelihoods of farmers and processors.

The MP said the project reflected the importance of partnerships in delivering development initiatives that respond to the needs of local communities.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with development partners and other stakeholders to promote sustainable economic opportunities and accelerate development across Evalue Ajomoro Gwira.
