Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday that Tehran was engaged in intensive diplomatic contacts through Qatari and Pakistani mediators, involving dozens of telephone calls and “intensive shuttle diplomacy”.
Speaking to Iran’s state news agency IRNA at the conclusion of a visit to Turkmenistan, Araghchi said Tehran had presented a clear plan and conditions for a diplomatic resolution, leaving the next step to Washington.
“We have announced our specific conditions and presented our formulated plan; now everything depends on how much political rationality prevails on the American side and whether there is a will to take the wise path of diplomacy or, as in previous instances, to drag the situation toward aggression and military operations,” he said.

Araghchi said Iran was prepared for both diplomatic and military scenarios “more than ever before”, warning that any renewed military action or deception would draw a response “far harsher and more regretful than before”.
He stressed that Tehran would not bow to coercion.
The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the full resumption of negotiations depend on the unconditional acceptance of Iran’s “rightful conditions”, he added.
Asked about a visit to Beijing by Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Araghchi described the consultations as part of Tehran’s continuing strategic and security engagement with key partners on regional peace and stability.
The latest diplomatic exchanges come amid continued tensions between Tehran and Washington over the US naval blockade and security in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global energy shipments.
Trump renews threat of military strikes on Iran, says US may have to 'give them the hammer'
US President Donald Trump renewed his threat of military action against Iran on Sunday, saying Washington might have to "give them the hammer," even as diplomatic efforts continued to avert another escalation.
"The only reason why I'm not finished with Iran is I want to be nice. I want to try and save all those lives if I can," Trump told supporters at a rally in Iowa.
"But at some point we're going to have to give them the hammer," he added.
Trump had previously told reporters that the US still had one or two targets left to strike in Iran, suggesting further military action could be imminent.
Iranian negotiators left Doha talks on Sunday, draft proposal is being circulated, official says
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday that Tehran did not expect a "new US" after the midterm elections, and that the negotiators did not leave Doha due to difficulties during negotiations.
Baghaei said that messages with the US continued on Sunday, and that Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi was present in Doha to facilitate the process.
A draft proposal was being circulated for feedback, and a follow-up meeting is possible, the official added.
UAE energy minister says course of Iran war cannot be predicted but we will be more prepared
The UAE's energy minister said on Monday that what will happen in the US-Israeli war on Iran cannot be predicted, but the UAE will be more prepared than before.
Suhail al-Mazrouei told Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) that at certain times his country's exports were better than prior to the war.
Trump favours diplomacy with Iran as Netanyahu urges strikes immediately after Tuesday's US midterms: Axios
US President Donald Trump is prioritising diplomatic engagement with Iran despite pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to launch military strikes immediately after Tuesday's US midterm elections, the Axios news site reported on Sunday.
In a phone conversation Saturday, the Israeli leader pressed Washington to resume military action against Iran shortly after the ballot, but Trump favoured allowing ongoing diplomatic tracks to play out, according to American and Israeli sources familiar with the exchange. Netanyahu is concerned about Trump’s approach, according to sources.
An Israeli source characterised the discussion as "tough," while a US source described it as "direct."
Trump confirmed Sunday that he had spoken with Netanyahu by phone, describing the conversation as “a very good talk.” He said the two discussed Iran but offered no further details.

He told reporters Saturday that talks with Iran were progressing well, adding that he is not "in much of a hurry" to resume strikes, though in previous remarks he has suggested a resumption after the November 3 midterms.
The exchange follows correspondence sent by US Vice President JD Vance to Mohsen Rezaei, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, on the potential resumption of formal negotiations.
Qatari mediators are holding discussions with Iranian representatives to broker a return to direct negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cautioned that an agreement has yet to be reached, saying Tehran is awaiting answers from the United States on outstanding issues.
The White House and the Israeli prime minister's office declined to comment on the report, according to Axios.
