An uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) organiser has been shot dead at his home in Umzumbe on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

Lastborn Shazi was reportedly shot and killed on Monday night.

In a statement, the MK Party in KwaZulu-Natal called on the Provincial Killings Task Team to urgently investigate the incident.

The party says police must establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

It describes the organiser’s death as a devastating loss for the party, his family and the community he served.
