National Lottery operator, Sizekhaya Holdings, says operations will continue as normal despite a decision by the High Court in Pretoria.

The court has set aside the decision by Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Parks Tau to award the Fourth National Lottery Licence to Sizekhaya.

It ruled that Tau acted both procedurally and substantively unfairly by secretly appointing a separate Ministerial Committee to perform a fresh re-evaluation outside the established Request for Proposals process.

The court has referred the matter back to the minister.

Sizekhaya assures players and retailers that games will run as scheduled and prizes will be paid, as the court suspended its order to ensure good causes remain funded without interruption.
