Limpopo police say six suspects have been arrested for alleged electoral offences since Monday.

Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba says police are monitoring voting stations to ensure safe and peaceful local government elections.

“He commenced his oversight at the IEC Results Operation Centre at the Ranch Hotel in Polokwane, joined by Lieutenant General Michael Mohlala from the NATJOINTS and Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Support Services, Major General Sebola. While at the centre, both Lieutenant General Scheepers and Lieutenant General Mohlala engaged members of the media, providing an update on progress regarding safety during the ongoing elections. About six suspects have already been arrested across the province for contravention of the Electoral Act since Monday, 02 November 2026. The provincial commissioner is now crisscrossing the province with aerial support to monitor members on the ground.”
