Overview

The Temerario might be the runt of the Lamborghini supercar litter, but it's still one raging bull. Taking the reins from its widely lauded Huracan predecessor, the Temerario is the least expensive way into Lambo's supercar lineup, but it doesn’t sacrifice much performance compared to the company's Revuelto flagship—in fact, it beats its brawnier older brother to 60 mph by a tenth of a second.

Under the Temerario's origami-folded sheetmetal lies a newly developed 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 nestled into the car's aluminum spaceframe just ahead of the rear axle. As if 789 horsepower from the engine alone wasn’t enough, a trio of electric motors—one mounted between the engine and transmission and one at each front wheel—ups its total output to 907 Italian stallions. If you somehow tire of the sound of the flat-plane-crank V-8's goosebump-raising 10,000-rpm wail, the electric motors also allow for short periods of silent, all-electric driving. With its mighty hybrid-assisted thrust, poster-worthy looks, and agile moves, the Temerario is every inch a purebred Lambo and well worthy of supercar status.

Expert Tip: If you'd rather have a horse instead of a bull in your garage, the Ferrari 296GTB is a steed with the need for speed, and moves to match the Lambo for a similar price.

Lamborghini's newest bull debuted in 2026 and charges into 2027 without any notable changes.

If this year's model is largely unchanged and you're comfortable with a lightly used car, you may want to consider shopping previous model years. A one-to-three-year-old model will likely have a warranty and it'll cost less than buying new.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The Temerario's powertrain consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with a flat-plane crankshaft, a trio of axial-flux electric motors, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Temerario's V-8 alone is good for 789 horsepower; adding the output of the three electric motors brings the total combined output to 907 horsepower. That's just 94 ponies shy of the Lamborghini Revuelto, the brand's V-12 halo car. On the Temerario, one electric motor mounts to the V-8 in front of the transmission, while the remaining two live up front, one at each wheel. The Temerario's V-8 redlines at 10,000 rpm, and the engine's peak torque of 538 pound-feet is available from 4000 to 7000 rpm. While the flat-plane-crank V-8 sounds glorious when pushed to its limit, we wish that its exhaust packed a bit more fury earlier in the rev range.

With the electric motors in play, maximum torque output rises to 590 pound-feet. In addition to supplying enormous power, the hybrid configuration helps provide instantaneous torque and linear power delivery over a broad range of speeds and driving situations. Thirteen drive programs are available via a rotary button on the steering wheel, including launch and drift modes, the latter offering three levels of tail-out leeway. We drove the Temerario at the track and on the street and were enthralled with its lively powertrain and playful demeanor.

0–60-MPH Times

In Comparison: In our testing, the Temerario got to 60 mph in a ridiculously quick 2.1 seconds. It also ripped through the quarter-mile in 9.4 seconds at 150 miles per hour. Both figures beat its big sibling, the Revuelto, by 0.3 seconds and 2 mph, respectively.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life

Juice is stored in a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery resides in the center tunnel along with the transmission—the location is said to help optimize weight distribution and is protected from underneath by structural elements. Regenerative braking and power from the internal-combustion engine both replenish the battery's state of charge. Plug-in charging is also possible via a standard 7-kW onboard charger; with typical household current, it can recharge an empty battery to full capacity in a claimed 30 minutes. An EV-only mode provides around 4 miles of range.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The EPA estimates that the Temerario will deliver 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. When we get a chance to test the Temerario, we'll update this story with results from our 75-mph highway fuel economy test. For more information about the Temerario's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

First Row: Thanks to its all-aluminum chassis, the Temerario's interior offers more space than the Huracán it replaced. Headroom increased by 1.3 inches, legroom by 1.8 inches, and Lamborghini claims the interior is large enough to accommodate drivers up to six feet five wearing a helmet. The interior shares some styling cues from the Revuelto; four stitching patterns are available, and the 18-way adjustable driver's seat is heated and ventilated. The Temerario also borrows the Revuelto's steering wheel, which is too busy with controls for our liking.

Cargo Capacity: If you're planning on taking the Temerario on a weekend getaway, you'd better pack light; the front trunk only has a four-cubic-foot capacity.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Lamborghini says the Temerario offers the most advanced suite of infotainment and connectivity features of any model in its lineup. Three displays—a 12.3-inch instrument panel with three user-selectable views, an 8.4-inch infotainment screen, and a 9.1-inch passenger screen—occupy prime dashboard real estate. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is a Sonus Faber audio system.

The most notable feature, though, is the optional Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system. Essentially an on-board data acquisition system, the setup utilizes three cameras: one viewing the road, one focused on the passengers, and one looking forward over the driver's shoulder. Preloaded with data for 150 different racing circuits, the system can be used to evaluate and improve driver performance. It also enables a "memories recorder" function that allows for up to two minutes of off-track recording, and works as a dashcam that can capture one minute of incident history.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Compared to most other cars, the Temerario doesn't offer many driver-assistance features.

For information about the Temerario's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Compared with most mainstream automakers, Lamborghini doesn't provide stellar warranty coverage. But its protection plans are competitive with those of high-end rivals such as Ferrari and can be enhanced by optional extended coverage. A five-year complimentary scheduled maintenance plan is now standard.
