The reviews are in, and critics agree that the new remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a winner. Seriously, Metacritic has it at 96 at the time of this writing. If you’re looking to add this new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive to your collection, today is your last chance to save $10 on a preorder. While preorders have sold out at Amazon, physical copies with the textured foil cover are still available at Walmart for $59.88. That’s $10 less than physical copies cost everywhere else.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Switch 2) Is $10 Off

Just like all of Walmart’s preorder discounts on physical Switch 2 games, the deal will go away once the game comes out. And it comes out tomorrow, November 5.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a from-the-ground-up remake of the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic. While it hews close to the original in many respects, it brings modern graphics, movement, and camera controls to the party, among other quality-of-life improvements. And because the bones of the game are so sturdy, this new reimagining is a fantastic adventure that will appeal to newcomers and longstanding fans alike.

In IGN's Ocarina of Time review, Nintendo expert Logan Plant wrote, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is both an exceptional remake of an incredible game and a rich adventure that stands on its own. This remake proves there’s still so much value in the traditional Zelda formula: the dense, intimate world of Hyrule is stuffed with charming characters and fascinating secrets. Its intricate dungeons are satisfying to unravel, even if their somewhat streamlined design has slightly dulled the special feeling that comes from solving them. Still, the depth, quality, and attention to detail in every corner match the lofty reputation of this series. Whether you’ve played the original 100 times, once back in 1998, or never at all, I highly recommend this beautiful retelling of a legend.”

To go along with the game, Nintendo is releasing a number of Zelda-themed hardware items to go along with it (see our preorder guide for full details). Most of these have already sold out as preorders, but some will come back in stock on November 5 – including at Best Buy’s midnight launch for the game.
